5-TOOL BASEBALL CAMPS

Developing the future pro ballplayers of tomorrow

COME AND LEARN FROM THE PROS!

The 5-Tool Camps

We take a “Cradle to Career” approach when it comes to your athlete. As former professional ball players, we understand what it takes to prepare to compete at the highest levels of the sport and the long road it takes to get there. The APBPA youth’s program will guide your athlete all the way through the process from youth ball to negotiating a big league contract. Do not be fooled by the ever-growing popularity of money-grab camps that profess to teach your athlete important skills while running drills with large groups of other athletes for a couple of hours. Your athlete will retain nothing.

Why?

It all starts with understanding what college and pro scouts look for and in preparing to put your best foot forward from the very first step. The APBPA’s 5-Tool Camp and assessment is the first step in the process. This is what coaches will look for to recruit your athlete. Once you know “HOW” coaches will assess your athlete, you will need to know “HOW THEY WILL GRADE OUT.”  This is stuff every parent should know BEFORE sending their athlete to a showcase!!!

As a result of this camp, your athlete will receive an objective rating/review of his/her performance (compared to his/her age group) including recommendations as to the areas that require attention and need improvement. From here, you will be invited to attend one of our follow-on coaching clinics targeted specifically at the skill(s) in which your athlete needs to improve.

Scouts have long graded position players on five tools that are central to success in the game: Hitting, Hitting for Power; Speed; Fielding; and Arm Strength. The so-called “5-Tool Player” is a special breed, as those who truly rate as “above average” in each category are extremely rare.
